The makeup brushes which are judged as unqualified or defects during makeup brush manufacturers' QC process or customers' incoming inspection, are usually be classified into following:
 

Critical defects
  • Deformation/ Irregular shape
  • Wrong size
  • Leak
  • Broken
  • Unassembled
  • Loose
  • Crack
  • Short mold, Chipped
  • Unseal
  • Wrong packing
  • Bent
  • Peel off printing/ Hot stamp
  • Wrong Color
  • Wrong component
  • Wrong printing

Major defects
  • Big scratch
  • Rough surface
  • Swell/ Blister
  • Black spot (More 2 points)
  • Dent
  • Dirt
  • Bubble
  • Dust Inside packing
  • Flashing
  • Slant, Unstraight
  • Printing; Blur, Incorrected, Incompleted, Unalignment, Scratched, Color
  • Dye Smear
  • Color spot (> 0.3 mm.)
Minor defects
  • Dust Outside packing
  • Dent
  • Black spot/ Color spot (< 0.3 mm.)
  • Incomplete packing seal
  • Color fade
  • Opacity
  • Scratch
  • Flashing

The makeup brushes with critical or major defects must be returned to the production line of makeup brush manufacturers for reproduction or scrapped; the makeup brushes with minor defect should be returned to production line for rework, or scrapped if no rework possibility.

During quotation, most makeup brush manufacturers will include a scrap rate in the makeup brush price, as no one can avoid of defects during makeup brush production.
