- Material selection: The hair materials of makeup brushes are mainly divided into animal hair and synthetic hair. Animal hair is soft and delicate, suitable for top and high-end makeup brushes; synthetic hair is smooth, environmentally friendly and affordable, suitable for high, medium and low-end makeup brushes. - Brushing: Combing and tidying up the selected bristles, removing short and thick hairs, preparing for the next step
- Weighing: There are strict control on the bristles amount of each brush, the bristles need to be weighed to ensure to meet the standard and the use experience of the brush
- Cupping/Putting into the cup: Put the neatly combed bristles into a specific mold, the mold is essential to the whole brush head shape. This process ensures that the bristles are placed accurately and not loose.
- Shaping :Use fingers to pinch the mold and tap it on a flat table to shape the bristles. Workers must control the force to ensure that the bristles are even and layered.
- Wire wrapping : Use a thin cotton wire to manually wrap multiple circles until tight to prevent the brush head from spreading and deforming.
- Shaving/trimming : Shave/trim the brush head manually or by machine to get a complete brush head shape.
- Adjustment : Adjust the brush head to ensure flat and smooth.
Ferrule and handle production:
- Ferrule production: Brush ferrule are generally made of copper and aluminum. Choose the appropriate material and size according to demands. - Brush handle production: Brush handles are usually made of wood (such as birch) or other suitable materials. Please click here for detailed handle material. After designing the shape of the brush handle, apply multiple coats of topcoat to required colors and also improve brush appearance and durability.

Brush assembly：
- Gluing: After making sure that the brush head is perfect, inject glue into the ferrule to fix the brush head and ferrule head. The glue material is very important, click here for the common glue types most makeup brush manufacturers will choose during makeup brush assembly.
- Assembly: Assemble the brush head and brush handle to ensure that they are dense and seamless to ensure the quality and user experience of the brush.
- Pinching: For the flattened brush head, workers need to use tools to pinch the ferrule to ensure that the connection between the brush head and the brush handle is tight.
Subsequent processing:
- Cleaning: The finished makeup brushes need to be cleaned before packaging. Wear pure cotton white gloves to polish the entire brush and clean any dust and stains.
- Ventilation and drying: The cleaned makeup brushes need to be ventilated and dried for a period of time (normally 7 to 10 days) to ensure that they are completely dry and ready for packaging.
- Quality inspection: The finished makeup brushes must pass the QC before shipment, including checking whether the bristles are neat and the brush handle is strong enough. Brushes with problems will be rejected and will not be shipped to customers.
